Harlan A. Krause, 74, of Janesville, WI passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. He was born in Reedsburg, WI on December 9, 1936, the son of August and Alice (Somerfield) Krause. He graduated from Westfield High School and served active duty with the Wisconsin National Guard at Fort Lewis, WA from October 15, 1961 to August 7, 1962. Harlan was a patrolman on the Janesville Police Department for several years and then worked as a security guard at the Janesville General Motors plant for 28 years retiring in 1992. He married Judith (Bouton) Kettle on May 20, 1992. Harlan was a member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Judy, 3 daughters, Susan Krause of Madison, Lisa (Walter) Mazurek of St. Charles, IL, Gabrielle Kettle of Janesville, 3 grandchildren, Walter Jr. and Charles Mazurek, Faith Kettle, 1 brother, Algene (Joanne) Krause of Janesville, Many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Sue Schoeller. In addition to his parents, Harlan was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Gordon Krause and a niece, Kathy Krause.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 709 Milton Avenue, Janesville . Funeral services will follow at 11 :30 a.m. Saturday at the Church with Pastor Mark Lindner officiating. Memorials may be made in Harlan’s name to St. Matthew’s Church School.
